History of Perth-Andover Wesleyan Church
The Perth-Andover Wesleyan Church was founded in 1909 as a result of a spiritual hunger by several worshippers in the area. In April of 1909, Rev. Fred Wright was asked to pastor this newly organized church body, while also serving as the pastor of two other congregations. For almost 60 years, the church operated as Reformed Baptist until 1968, the Wesleyan Methodists merged with the Pilgrim Holiness church and became known as the Atlantic District of the Wesleyan Church.
On May 15, 1977, work began to build a new church building. Led by Donald Nye, the church construction continued for a year with a dedication on May 14, 1978. With a capacity of close to 300, the church continues to minister to the community under the leadership of Rev. Reg Thomas and Lic. Jordon LeBlanc.
