Pastor Reg Thomas
Rev. Reg Thomas was born in Fredericton N.B. in 1959, but grew up in Saint John N.B., where his family still resides to this day. Having grown up in and been confirmed into the Anglican tradition (for which he still the utmost respect), Reg became disillusioned with spiritual things and throughout his highschool years became an agnostic. After High School graduation in 1978, he accepted an invitation to attend Silver Lake Bible Camp, where his brother Rev. Peter Thomas was the guest speaker. It was here that Reg heard and understood the gospel and was born again. That same year he entered Bethany Bible College and graduated 4 years later with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. He was ordained as an elder in the church in 1984.
His first church was the Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church where he led the vision, helped design, finance and build the new Maple Ridge Church building.
Between 1987 and 1995, he took some years off from active Pastoral ministry and worked in Group Homes for the mentlly ill and taught work orientation workshops for teens at risk of dropping out of school. All the while he worked secularly he also worked at King's Valley Wesleyan Church teaching a large co-ed Sunday school class and leading cell groups.
In 1995 he re-entered the full time pastoral ministry by accepting the Sr. Pastor's position at Brazil lake Wesleyan church, and has been there for the last 14 years. His ministry there has brought health and healing to an older established church.
Pastor Reg is looking forward becoming a part of the community of Perth-Andover and ministering to those who need him.
